With the latest WiFi 6 technology in the AP3400, you can offer all passengers a better Wi-Fi experience with higher upload rates, simultaneous use of multiple devices and improved data throughput and bandwidth efficiency compared to WiFi 5. Thanks to newest encryption technology, which is part of WiFi 6, the transmitted data is protected from curious eyes of others.
The dual radio modules enable simultaneous operation on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for up to 200 clients. Additional cabling and costs are saved by requiring only one antenna for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies on the same 2x2 MU-MIMO antenna link.
As passenger numbers continue to increase, so does the length of a train. In order to ensure optimal passenger flow, the boarding area in trains, for example, is designed spacious, which means that there is less and less space available for the technical components. Thanks to its flat and compact design, the Access Point can be installed easily and in a space-saving manner
More power simply from anywhere
The access point is preferably used in combination with the NB3800 Railway Router and the ES3300 switch to build a redundant Gigabit IP backbone with ring topology. In addition, the power supply of the AP3400 can be managed by the ES3300 switch with Power over Ethernet, PoE+ (IEEE 802.3 at). This can save up to 50% of the cabling effort, as data and power are transmitted in the same Ethernet cable.
Commissioning made easy
In combination with the NetModule railway router series NB3800, the AP3400 can be configured from the router, thanks to the REST API. Quick and easy commissioning (Auto Discovery) of all devices, including switch and access point, can be done via the NetModule Router Software, the Connectivity Suite or the graphical user interface
on the Access Point. The Connectivity Suite enables easy roll-out (distribution and management) of multiple devices in many vehicles. This over-the-air configuration of all system components saves time and money and provides the perfect all-in-one solution for passenger WiFi and passenger infotainment systems.
