Summary
Effective 31st of March 2025 NetModule is starting to replace the standard 5G cellular modem for the regions EMEA, NA and APAC due to end-of-life situation of the module from the modem manufacturer Telit Cinterion. This change will affect the specification of the 5G & GNSS feature set of our products with mPCIe modules.
The transition phase starts in April 2025 and end in Summer 2025 August 31st.
Affected Products
The change will affect all NB1800, NB1810, NB2800, NB2810, NB3800 products with product option ā-Nā (worldwide 5G rel. 15 / 4G cat. 20), and ā-N-Gā (Standard GNSS). These products contain mPCIe modules. The cellular modem is changed from Telit Wireless FN980-WW to Telit FN990A28-HP (worldwide, 5G rel. 16 / LTE Cat. 20) with product option ā-Nā and ā-N-Gā.

The 5G and GNSS features comparison table in the Product Change Notice shows the changes introduced by the transition to the new modem. Most relevant changes are highlighted.
