Summary
Updating the device with latest NetModule Router Software is preventing the built in memory module (eMMC) into abnormal state.
Affected Products
Products with NRSW and series NB800, NB1601, NB18x0, NB28x0, NB3701, NB3800: The built in memory module, eMMC, may enter an abnormal state, which in rare cases may prevent the device from restarting properly. This can occur if the device loses power while the memory is still in use, i.e. it is being accessed and data is being written.
The behaviour is temporarily fixed by a factory reset of the device, the reset instructions can be found in the manual of the router, which is available at Index of /public/system-software/latest (netmodule.com).
The memory module manufacturer has built a fix for this, which is integrated now into our NRSW. This behaviour is permanently fixed by updating the NRSW then.
Product Change
The following issues have been fixed from NRSW Versions 4.9.0.100/ 4.8.0103 / 4.6.0.108:
- The implementation of the patch, of the memory module manufacturer in our kernel to fix the memory module enter in an abnormal state
- The permanent behaviour is only fixed by updating the NRSW
NetModule recommends updating the devices to Software version 4.9.0.100/ 4.8.0103 / 4.6.0.108 or newer.
