NetModule Router Software version 4.9.0.100 has been released. With 4.9 there are significant new features for the NetModule Router Software.
New features:
- Kernel upgrade
The NRSW Kernel has been updated to version 5.15.147. - IPv6
IPv6 Features on LAN side have been implemented as well as IPv6 capabilities for VPN protocols. - WLAN client can now set custom MAC address
Analog to ethernet interfaces custom MAC addresses can now be set for WLAN client connections. - GNSS firmware update functionality
GNSS firmware updates for uBlox NEO-based GNSS receivers integrated. - GUI Service Access Control improvements
The order of the Access Control labels "Profiles" and "Configuration" were changed to be more coherent with the configuration flow.
Bugfixes:
- SDK improvements
There has been a memory leak in the SDK modbus implementation which caused problems in long running scripts. This is fixed. - SATA not available on specific hardware
On NBHW 14 / NB3800, NB3711, NB3701 there was no SATA power when using PSE connector. This is fixed. - RTC was not synced consistently
In some cases the real time clock could get out of sync. This has been fixed - Surveyor improvements
Under some circumstances it could be that the watchdog was not triggered by the surveyor within the timeout and therefore the ping mechanism of the surveyor was displayed as dead. This could happen especially while using 4 LTE cards at the same time. This has been fixed. - WLAN scan improvements
It could be that some SSIDs were displayed as "n/a" after performing WLAN scans several times. This has been fixed.
Security fixes
- Curl CVE fixes
CVE-2023-38546: This flaw allows an attacker to insert cookies at will into a running program using libcurl.
CVE-2023-38545: This flaw makes curl overflow a heap based buffer in the SOCKS5 proxy handshake. - Telnet disabled after initial setup
For security reasons Telnet will be automatically disabled after the initial setup process. The service can be reactivated via the configuration.
