Communications specialist NetModule, a long-time supplier of certified communications equipment for rail transport, was accepted into the European rail supply industry association at this year's UNIFE General Assembly. NetModule sees its membership in UNIFE as an opportunity to share its extensive experience and actively promote digitalization and the advancement of sustainable mobility. Particularly in the environment of digitalization for rail transport, sustainable solutions that are already aligned with the needs of tomorrow are gaining in importance.
"Membership allows us to identify trends in the mobility sector at an early stage and to participate in the establishment of new standards. This enables us to offer our customers profitable solutions with real added value. Moreover, for an internationally operating company like us, this membership is an important door opener for Europe-wide projects," emphasizes Jürgen Kern, CEO of NetModule AG.
In the course of its membership, NetModule gains access to information on European legislation (transport, industry, trade, environment...), technical topics (results of European R&D projects, regulatory and standardization activities), analysis of global railroad markets, and IRIS quality certification. UNIFE provides access and networking with industry leaders, participation in topic-specific committees and workshops to present own innovations. Also beneficial is access to EU funds for the industry and assistance in setting up EU-funded research & innovation projects, as well as access to decision makers including participation in regulatory and standardization activities.
The UNIFE Association
The objective of the UNIFE Association is to strengthen the global competitiveness of the European rail supply industry and to promote the development of rail as the preferred mode of transport in Europe and worldwide. UNIFE actively promotes EU rail transport technology and standards in Europe and abroad. UNIFE members represent 84% of the European and 46% of the global market for rail technology and services. The association represents the interests of its members at both European and international level and proactively develops an environment in which UNIFE members can provide competitive rail systems for increasing rail traffic.
