The communication specialist NetModule AG presents new, immediately available, ITxPT-compliant NB2810 Routers for vehicles. The E1-certified devices integrate M12 connectors and were tested in a precisely defined test sequence. For transport operators the ITxPT marking means security and interoperability with other ITxPT compliant devices in their infrastructures. The NB2810 routers are vehicle routers for wireless data and voice communication in mobile environments, especially in public transport. Among other things, they enable passenger WLAN and entertainment as well as condition monitoring and remote management in the vehicle. Their functional and robust design (vibration and shock resistant) characterizes these routers for applications in the extended temperature range.
The NB2810 routers integrate a powerful dual-core CPU that enables routing at data rates of up to 1 Gbps. Equipped with up to two 3G/4G modules, whose connections can also be bundled, the necessary bandwidth can be adapted to the requirements of the applications. The Quad-SIM function and the sophisticated WAN Link Manager enable load balancing, connections with multiple network providers maximize availability. WLAN coverage in a vehicle can be increased to over 800 Mbps with up to two access points according to the IEEE 802.11ac standard with 2x2 MIMO and beam forming. VLANs are used to separate networks and provide dedicated communication paths for different applications. Data traffic is prioritized via Quality of Service (QoS).
Regardless of the Internet connection, an integrated solid state disk (SSD) with up to 1 TB of storage space enables local storage of documents, image, audio and video files as well as your own web pages, thus creating the prerequisites for a wide range of entertainment applications. In addition, there is a choice of expansion interfaces such as CAN, RS-232, RS-485, Audio Line In/Out, IBIS or GNSS with dead reckoning.
The NB2810 routers are CE (RED) compliant and have the necessary vehicle approval (UN ECE R10, UN ECE R118).
As with all NetModule routers, the software is based on embedded Linux and proven components with many communication protocols. The NB2810 router is configured via web interface, command line or SNMP. Software updates and configuration changes are made automatically or remotely using a comprehensive API and customer-specific software tools. The SDK environment allows the user to program the device using a simple scripting language.
