SIM cards that have to be installed before or during operation are no longer practical for many devices. A SIM that can be reprogrammed is the solution. That is why NetModule now offers the so-called eUICC (Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card).
The big advantage of eUICC is that the SIM card can be given a new provider profile over-the-air. This means that the SIM card no longer has to be replaced when the operator is changed - thus minimizing sources of error and shortening maintenance - and thus also the downtimes of machines and vehicles.
eUICCs are often also called eSIMs. eSIM refers to a solderable SIM chip. The eUICC, on the other hand, is independent of the SIM card format; it is available for both chip SIMs and plastic SIM cards.
We offer both for our products - SIM chip and plastic SIM. This means that our older products can also be retrofitted with eUICC.
