Big Data and analytics are on everyone’s lips – but we are talking less about of how data gets into the cloud in the first place. In the case of data from vehicles, data acquisition is made difficult because the vehicles are moving, and the electrification of the power train multiplies the number of sensors, actuators, and board computers.
In addition, there is a variety of parallel systems and parameters with different characteristics as potential data sources. While pressure or temperature information only consist of a few bytes, digital maps and their real-time update information require huge amounts of memory. However, the sources of the most expansive data are high-resolution cameras and lidar (light detection and ranging) for driver assistance systems.
We offer telematics solutions for special vehicles ranging from Australian mining trucks to municipal buses with hybrid drives or snowmobiles on Swiss alpine slopes. Data transmission from the vehicles is carried out via several mobile network modules (4G/3G) independently of location.
The common software basis of the NetModule routers supports a modular platform, which allows the evaluation and management of a fleet of different vehicles under one system.
The monitoring and maintenance of the NetModule “router fleet” can be centrally controlled by the NetModule Connectivity Suite.
